Happy New Semester

Wow, January used to be a "mellow month." It's easier to get the classes going in the new semester, as there are fewer new names to learn, but there are other commitments--yearbook deadlines to meet, grant applications to write, and (ahem) this class.

  1. the new semester is so tough. I think the constant talk about budget going down, down, down is stressing everyone out.

  2. Before our class tomorrow, I wanted to try commenting on someone else's blog. I also grew up in the 1950's (in Cleveland Heights, Ohio). I was very content to leave it to Beaver. Or Wally. Or Captain Kangaroo. I was a financial analyst and stock and bond trader before becoming a teacher. Two weeks into my first year as an emergency credentialed middle school teacher, 9/11 happened. Two years ago, I reinvented myself as a high school English teacher at BHS (which, ironically, are also my initials.

I think this is enough for a blog comment. I hope to actually talk to you (you know, when actual sound waves travel from one person's vocal chords to another person's ears...) at some point. Hope the class tomorrow is as much fun as writing sub plans was...
